Chapelco drops from the ridge into a lenga forest overlooking Lake Lácar, with wide, well-groomed runs that made it the family favourite. The gondola from the base keeps the flow orderly and the ski school is among the country's best. San Martín de los Andes, 20 minutes away, is arguably the prettiest town on Argentina's ski circuit.
