Penitentes was one of Mendoza's big resorts and now runs a reduced operation as Penitentes Park: surface lifts in the La Herradura area, a snow park and a panoramic chairlift for a close look at the high Andes. 165 km from Mendoza on Route 7, it works as a family day trip more than a classic ski destination.
