The historic Penitentes complex on National Route 7, 165 km from Mendoza city, is currently operated under the Penitentes Park concession. The 2026 setup is a mini ski center with surface lifts at La Herradura and the Panoramic Chairlift reopened after years closed (April 2026). It adds a sledding snow park, ice skating, snowshoes and MTB. The mountain's geographic summit is still 3,194m, but today's active skiable area is significantly smaller.
